Notts Cricket Development Manager Keith Tongue hopes that unsung heroes from Nottinghamshire’s amateur cricket clubs will achieve national recognition when the ECB Natwest OSCA winners are announced in October.
Regional winners will be assessed by the ECB judging panel ahead of the awards ceremony at Lord’s and local clubs are being asked to nominate in seven categories.
“The scheme is a great opportunity to reward members and volunteers who have given fantastic service to their clubs,” said Keith, who will host the regional ceremony at Trent Bridge.
“We are asking local clubs to nominate unsung heroes who are sometimes taken for granted at grass roots level.
“We will shortlist three nominees in each category and I would encourage players, members and officials at all clubs to make nominations.”
Categories include ‘behind the scenes,’for those volunteers who play a vital role but shun the limelight at their club, ‘another way,’ for those that have overcome adversity by finding a different approach, and ‘lifetime achiever,’ for those who have made a difference over a sustained period.
