Mick Newell has called on Nottinghamshire supporters to come out in force for their Twenty20 Cup quarter-final and make it another special day at Trent Bridge.
Notts had their position as winners of the North Group confirmed by wash-out at Old Trafford between Lancashire and Leicestershire, which was soon followed by a similar outcome at the Riverside, where the Outlaws were due to take on Durham.
Newell said: “Now that we’ve got the home tie, we want to reproduce what happened in the quarter-final last year, both on and off the field.
“Domestically it was one of the best nights at Trent Bridge for a long time. There’s no doubt it gave the team a boost and helped them beat Northants.
“It was a pleasant surprise to see so many people at the ground given the short space of time between the group stages and the quarter-final.
“But with those memories to feed off, it would be great to see those kind of numbers here again to cheer the side on.”
The draw for the quarter-finals takes place on Sky Sports tonight and ticket details for the Trent Bridge fixture will be available here from lunchtime tomorrow.
