Date of birth – 21 August 1996 Grantham, Lincolnshire
Nottinghamshire First Class Debut – 14 May 2019 v Essex (Chelmsford)
All-rounder Zak Chappell is the most recent player to have made the short journey from Grace Road to join Nottinghamshire.
The former Leicestershire player signed a three-year contract in October 2018 and will be hoping that his county switch can help him achieve his career ambitions of playing at the highest level.
An aggressive, right-arm fast bowler and talented lower middle-order batsman, Chappell attracted lots of attention when the county grapevine heard rumours of his impending departure from his first county.
Chappell took 16 wickets in the Specsavers County Championship at an average of 15.93 in 2018 and averaged over 30 with the bat.
His performances haven’t gone under the radar, with call-ups to the North side and the England Lions.
Injuries to the more experience members of Nottinghamshire's fast bowling setup handed Chappell his chance with the new ball in 2020 - one he grabbed with both hands.
The paceman showed a knack for removing pedigree batsmen, with the likes of Jonny Bairstow, Dawid Malan and Keaton Jennings falling victim to his pace and hostility.
Chappell would go on to take 15 First-Class scalps across four Bob Willis Trophy fixtures.
