Nottinghamshire First-Class debut - 1 August 2020 v Derbyshire, Trent Bridge
A rangy left-arm quick, Barber was added to Nottinghamshire’s bowling armoury ahead of the start of the 2020 season.
The 6ft 3in seamer impressed during a trial period with the club, having previously made senior appearances for Middlesex and Hampshire.
A former England under-19 international, Barber has long been regarded as a promising fast bowling talent, spending time under the tutelage of current Notts Assistant Coach Kevin Shine on the ECB’s pace programme.
The Dorset-born paceman represented the South in the ECB’s 50-over warm-up matches in 2018 – a series in which Steven Mullaney captained the North – before going on to take 4-28 in an encounter between Middlesex and Sussex at Lord’s that summer.
Barber enjoyed an extended stint as a First-Class player for the first time in 2020, and received his rewards in the form of his first wickets in the format.
