A veteran of 42 one day internationals for New Zealand, Adams agreed terms on a two year deal at Trent Bridge in May 2008.
The 32 year-old right-arm seamer returns to Notts having enjoyed a short spell with the club in 2007 during which he played four LV County Championship games for the club, taking six wickets against Derbyshire.
Although Adams was registered as an overseas player during his previous spell, his West Indian parentage has allowed him to re-join under the Kolpak ruling.
Born in Auckland to a mother from Guyana and a father from St Vincent, his most memorable international performance came against the West Indies in the 2003 Cricket World Cup where Adams took 4-44 and hit 35 off 24 balls to earn a vital win for the Black Caps.
His one Test appearance came against England at Eden Park in April 2002. He took six wickets in the game including those of Michael Vaughan, Nasser Hussain and Andrew Flintoff.
Adams was the club’s leading LV= County Championship wicket taker in 2009 signed a new two-year contract committing him to Nottinghamshire until the end of the 2011 season.
