Having made quite the initial splash in Nottinghamshire colours, young off-spinner Farhan Ahmed has continued to rise through the ranks at a stratospheric speed.
In August 2024, aged 16 years and 189 days, he became the youngest player to make his County Championship debut for Nottinghamshire, doing so against Surrey at Trent Bridge.
Not content with one record, Ahmed proceeded to become the youngest player in County Championship history to claim 10 match wickets, including taking the scalps of Test-capped Rory Burns - twice - Will Jacks, Ben Foakes, and Dom Sibley.
He went on to end the 2024 season with 22 wickets at 23.22 apiece, and the following summer, continued a meteoric beginning to his career by breaking into the Outlaws’ T20 side to ensure he had debuted in all three formats before his 18th birthday.
Subsequently, Ahmed became the first man ever to claim a hat-trick for Notts in the Vitality Blast when he did so against Lancashire Lightning, removing Luke Wood, Tom Aspinwall, and Mitchell Stanley in successive balls.
With his talents and prospective leadership abilities also being noticed, he went on to captain England Under-19s in the West Indies in November 2025, before being part of the Young Lions squad that finished as runners-up at the 2026 Under-19 World Cup.
