MINUTES OF THE 2023 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 53 M I NU T E S O F T H E ANNUAL GENERAL MEET ING Held in the Derek Randall Suite and online via video conference on Monday 27 February 2023 Present: Mr J P Moore (Chair), members of the General Committee, Ms L J Pursehouse MBE (Chief Executive), members of staff, 119 members via video conference and approximately 130 members present in the Derek Randall Suite. The Chair welcomed to the meeting the members of the club, including HonoraryVice-President CllrTina Combellack (Mayor of Rushcliffe Borough Council). At the start of the meeting, Ms L J Pursehouse, Chief Executive of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, asked for a minute’s silence in memory of those members who had sadly passed away during the year: Mr G Allen, Mr J Basham, MrsT Butcher, Mrs J I M Clay, Mr D Cox, Mr P Dobbie, Mr M Faulconbridge, Mr B Ford, Mr P R Forman, Mr D Gilmore, Mr D Gray, Mr I Hepburn, Mr M Hollingworth, Mr M Kirkman, Dr A Lee, Mr A Lindley, Mr C Lindo, Mr G Marshall, Mr G Murfet, Mr A Musson, Mr R Musson, Mr D A Pullan, Mr J Rhodes, Mr R Robb, Mr R Rodgers, Mr K Stachini, Mr R Stanbridge, Mr Ian Starkie, Mr DThurgeson, Mr NTopliss, Mr JTrinick, Mr ATurner, Mrs JWheelhouse. 1. MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING HELD ON MONDAY 28 FEBRUARY 2022 The minutes, which had been circulated in the annual report ahead of the meeting, were accepted as a true and accurate record on the proposition of Mr Bill Russell, seconded by Mr Nick Evans. The Chair explained that, where possible during the 2023 meeting, proposers and seconders would be taken from within the room (if not, via Zoom using raised hand functionality).Where required, votes within the room would be combined with votes via Zoom using the polling function which would appear as a pop-up window on the user’s screen. Questions would be taken from those members in the room during the meeting and from those on Zoom using agm@trentbridge.co.uk. Members joining via Zoom had been asked if they wished to submit questions in advance & these would be put to the panel during the relevant item. 3. MINUTES OF THE EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING HELD ON 1 NOVEMBER 2022 The minutes, which had been circulated in the annual report ahead of the meeting, were accepted as a true and accurate record on the proposition of Mr RichardTennant, seconded by Ms Diana Peasey. 4. MATTERS ARISING There were no matters arising. 5. TO RECEIVE THE CHAIR’S REPORT The Chair welcomed those present to the 2023 AGM. As many would be aware, this was to be his last AGM as Chair after nine years on the Committee. And what a roller- coaster nine years that had been: three Chairs, twoTreasurers, five Prime Ministers, two Monarchs and an Extraordinary General Meeting for the first time in decades. And that was just off the pitch. 2021/2022 was indeed a very good year judged by any criteria. Following the pandemic, there had been a return to full capacity crowds, members back in the Long Room, a full set of fixtures across all formats, one of the best Test matches ever seen at this historic ground and continued prudent financial control. This latter point was not to be underestimated: the Committee’s principal task is careful stewardship of the club’s assets so that future generations can benefit from them. Ahead of further detail being provided by the Treasurer, Mr Moore remarked that it was fair to say that the club’s low level of indebtedness was the envy of most First-Class counties. On the field, Notts had a magnificent red-ball season – win- ning Division 2 of the County Championship handsomely. If it
