2023 ANNUAL REPORT
NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY CRICKET CLUB 2023 ANNUAL REPORT & ACCOUNTS 24 “SOME OF STUART’S MOST ICONIC PERFORMANCES CAME AT TRENT BRIDGE, AND IT WAS ONLY RIGHT FOR US TO RECOGNISE HIS CONTRIBUTION TO NOTTS, ENGLAND AND CRICKET WITH THE RENAMING OF THE PAVILION END.” Mick Newell very top in all formats is outstanding, and his popularity amongst members and supporters indicates the value of his contributions – particularly in the biggest of moments. Jake endured a challenging time with injury, but he has played a major role in many of the club’s recent successes. Winning England caps in all three formats is a brilliant achievement indicative of his talent, and for him to finish his time with us by hitting the winning runs against Middlesex was hugely apt. We wish all three players well on whatever journeys lay ahead, and remind them that they will always be made to feel welcome at Trent Bridge. Over the coming seasons, it will be the turn of new players to take up the mantle left behind; to assume responsibility and take ownership. The first team as a whole must grow in the areas where we failed to meet our own exacting standards in 2023, and continue to execute in the areas where we achieved success. But I am optimistic that our extensive planning and hard work on and off the field will bear fruit in the seasons ahead across the club.
