Top order half-centuries from Sonia Odedra and Sarah Bryce were not enough to prevent Nottinghamshire from falling to a two-wicket defeat to Yorkshire at Welbeck.

In the final one-day fixture of the season, Odedra and Bryce combined well despite being frustrated by intermittent delays for rain.

The pair put on 155 for the first wicket before Bryce was bowled for 60.

Skipper Odedra made 72 before her dismissal precipitated the fall of five wickets for 33 runs, leaving Notts on 198-7 from their 47 overs.

Chasing a revised total of 205, the visitors began slowly, and were still behind the run rate 38 overs into their innings.

But the solid knocks compiled by Hollie Armitage (59), Jessica Watson (46) and Leah Dobson (40) proved to be the perfect platform to allow Alexandra MacDonald to blast her side to victory.

MacDonald’s 27* off 20 balls was the decisive contribution as Yorkshire got over the line after 47 overs.

The defeat meant that Nottinghamshire finished in sixth place in the table, with Kent already confirmed as champions before the final round of fixtures.
