Trent Bridge was today named in the top ten best stadiums in world cricket by the Daily Telegraph.
The piece, penned by Nick Hoult, ranked the historic home of Nottinghamshire cricket fifth in the list.
“A model for every other ground wanting to upgrade its facilities,” wrote the paper’s Cricket Writer from India, where he is preparing to report on England in the final of the ICC World T20.
“The addition of Radcliffe Road and Fox stands in recent years has been done sympathetically and in keeping with the feel of the ground.
“Trent Bridge is a favourite venue for England players and the collection of bats and photographs in the pavilion Long Room (look for the young Larwood) bring back the great names of the past.”
Hoult’s list in full was as follows:
1. Melbourne Cricket Ground
2. Sydney Cricket Ground
3. Lord’s
4. Eden Gardens
5. Trent Bridge
6. Newlands
7. Adelaide Oval
8. Queenstown
9. Galle
10. Rwanda National Stadium
