Before last night’s four-wicket victory over Lancashire Lightning, Notts Outlaws have found twenty-over success at Old Trafford impossible to find, and captain David Hussey was understandably pleased to break that record and leave Manchester with a win.
“Every time I've played here we've lost so it was nice to turn the tables and that was a pretty complete performance tonight,” he said.
“I was undecided at the toss because it was a new wicket and on top of that we know that a lot of teams are chasing successfully in twenty20 cricket.”
Hussey has been leading by example in Notts’ first two fixtures in the tournament, taking 3 wickets and has been instrumental with the bat, helping to see off Leicestershire on Friday night, and scoring an excellent 52 against Lancashire Lightning.
Hussey added: “It was a nice easy paced wicket and I started to see the ball and find the time to play.
“I like having the strike once I'm in but I want my partner to hit out as well or there's a danger they can lose their rhythm.”

Despite grabbing the majority of headlines with his batting ability, Hussey has also proved his worth in the Friends Life t20 with the ball, and he has taken advice from the very best.
“Mick is always on my case to bowl a bit more because I'm often a bit reluctant,” he said.
“Shane Warne preached that you should always have a plan to get the in players out but it's about getting to the top of your mark, taking an extra second and executing exactly what you want to do,”
New Zealander Mitchell McClenaghan took 5-29, including the wickets of Hussey himself and Alex Hales, who scored 49, slowed the Outlaws’ progress.
“I knew that McClenaghan was going to be dangerous at the back end so I took a few more risks against the spin to get us in a good position,” he said.
“This is a big tournament for us and we desperately want a home quarter final.”
