Notts Outlaws bowler Darren Pattinson has been ruled out of Wednesday's Friends Life t20 quarter-final against Hampshire Royals with a groin injury.

Pattinson took part in light training this morning but was unable to bowl and will be replaced by Jake Ball in the team fighting for a place at Finals Day.

"Darren will be missed but this is a big opportunity for Jake who has bowled extremely well in the Clydesdale Bank 40 this season," said Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell.

"We have maintained a very settled team throughout this competition, aside from enforced changes through England call-ups, and this change won't affect our game plan."

Adam Voges, who tops the Outlaws' batting and bowling averages in this season's Friends Life t20, will captain the side with Michael Lumb, Alex Hales, Riki Wessels and James Taylor also included in a formidable top five.

Samit Patel and Chris Read provide additional firepower with Steven Mullaney's inteligent variations amongst the bowling options alongside Ball, Harry Gurney and Andy Carter.

Hampshire Royals will bring a 13-man squad to Trent Bridge that includes former Nottinghamshire opener Bilal Shafayat as well as leading all-rounder Dimitri Mascarenhas and Australian hitter Glenn Maxwell.

With a forecast of unblemished sunshine, Trent Bridge will open its gates at 5.30pm with tickets available to purchase from the ticket office on Bridgford Road.

Supporters can enjoy a discount on tickets by buying online, in person or via the ticket hotline (0844 8118711) before 4.30pm today.
