Nottinghamshire have been crowned ECB Under 17 County Champions with an eight wicket victory over Hampshire in the two-day final at Arundel Castle Cricket Club, in Sussex.

After a solid start, Hampshire were rocked by Nottinghamshire’s Anuj Dal (4-39) and Usman Aziz (4-42) as they were bowled out after 80 overs for 231.

In reply, Nottinghamshire batsmen Andrew Bell and Dal put on 70 for the first wicket with Dal (78) going on to partner Rhys Hayes in a 90-run second wicket stand. Dominic Brown (24*) joined Hayes, who finished on 97 not-out, to guide Nottinghamshire to an eight wicket victory in the 76th over.
