Trent Bridge Community Sports Trust Manager Tracey Francis hopes to attract a £5000 funding injection to develop a project that will equip ex-offenders with computer skills.

The project is amongst three in the running for a Digital Heroes Award in the east midlands and will build on an existing programme which has seen probationers visit Trent Bridge as part of their rehabilitation.

“This project aims to give ex-offenders involved with the Probation Service in Nottinghamshire the opportunity to learn valuable skills to support them in the workplace and help them to lead a better life,” said Tracey.

“The grant would fund an Introduction to Microsoft course for offenders involved with the probation team. This course would help improve the life chances of participants by providing them with essential digital skills.”

The winner will be decided by a public vote and supporters of cricket in Nottinghamshire are urged to register their support by clicking here.

Regional winners will have the opportunity to double their grant after a national vote.
