Notts Outlaws and Leicestershire Foxes were forced from the field at Grace Road as rain fell 16 balls into the home side's reply.
Adam Voges (36) and David Hussey (32) made decent contributions to a Notts total of 164-8 but the match was abandoned after a heavy downfall.
Notts will defend their unbeaten record when Warwickshire Bears visit Trent Bridge on Saturday (play starts 2.40pm).
