Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell has confirmed that he has provided Hampshire with the required notice that he intends to enter discussions with Michael Lumb over a potential move to Trent Bridge next season.
Lumb, 31, has been ruled out for the rest of the season through injury but is held in high regard by Newell having forged a solid reputation in county cricket since making his debut for Yorkshire in 2000.
