Notts Premier League
Notts Academy 240-8 (50 overs) drew with Caythorpe 168-8 (50 overs)

Academy 17pts Caythorpe 7pts

The Academy batted on winning the toss and, at one stage, looked like amassing a total approaching 300.

However after 25 overs the Academy were 124-2 with Michael Robson and Ollie Swann in the middle of a productive stand of 120 for the third wicket

Swann was bowled with the score on 196 by Hawley for 72, his third successive score over fifty, and then Robson was dismissed for his top score of the season (71) at 211-5.

From then on the remainder of the batting struggled to come to terms with the spin attack of James Hawley and Stephen Randall and could only add a further 29 from the last six overs, Hawley finishig with 3-31 and Randall 1-52 from 15 overs.

A wicket with the first ball from George Bacon which saw Josh Mierkalns lob a catch to Robson at point gave the Academy a dream start and they took wickets regularly with only Steve Allcoat showing any form scoring 40 before being called for a quick single by Jim Hindson. As the fielder was Scott Elstone at cover, the outcome was predictable.

Hindson batted stubbornly for 20 before he too was run out, somewhat unluckily as a straight drive from Hunt was deflected on to the stumps by the bowler Adam Tillcock.

At 153-8 with 8 overs remaining a victory for the Academy was on the cards, however Shafique and Randall stuck it out to limit the academy to a winning draw.

All the Academy bowlers bowled well George Bacon taking 2-48 with Tillcock conceding only 37 runs for one wicket from his twelve overs of left arm spin.
