Ryan Sidebottom will open the bowling for Notts Outlaws when they face Scotland in Edinburgh on Sunday.

Sidebottom is back in the Notts fold following his success in the ICC World Twenty20 and will learn on Sunday whether he has been included in the England squad for the npower Test series against Bangladesh.

“Ryan prefers to play regular games and I’m pleased that he has been made available to us so soon after the ICC World Twenty20,” said Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell.

"There will be a little bit of him having to come down from the high of what he has just achieved with England but Sid is very professional and he enjoys playing for Notts so I'm sure he will be able to re-focus.”

Newell has acknowledged that Scotland are not to be taken lightly in the Clydesdale Bank 40 this season. They have already beaten Leicestershire in their opening fixture and are more than capable of causing further upsets.

“The likes of Gavin Hamilton and George Bailey are quality players and the amount of cricket Scotland are playing now has led to inevitable improvements,” said Newell.

“We’re taking this game very seriously and we’re travelling up in good time to watch their game against Kent to get a better understanding of how they play.”

Mark Wagh is back in the Notts squad after missing the home defeat against Hampshire but Darren Pattinson, Charlie Shreck and Luke Fletcher all miss out.

Sunday’s match begins at 1.45pm.
