Notts Premier League
Notts Academy (246-5) drew with Papplewick & Linby (221-8)
Notts Academy 17pts, Papplewick 8pts

The Academy put their recent dismal run behind them with a well deserved winning draw away to Papplewick and Linby.

Put in to bat on a slow green pitch, which helped neither batsman to score quickly nor gave the bowlers much assistance, Notts were indebted to Scott Elstone who coming in at 92-2 in the 25th over batted for the remainder of the innings for an undefeated 84 from 91 balls.

Michael Robson scored 45 in a fifth wicket stand of 109. Earlier both Sam Wood and Sam Kelsall scored 36.

Brett Hutton captured two early wickets in the home team's reply to leave them on 13-2. However Mark Nelson then added 101 for the third wicket with Bradley Matthews before Adam Shepherd broke the stand dismissing Matthews for 39.

Scott Elstone then had Nelson leg before for 65 and Bekker bowled for 32 to leave Papplewick on 187-5 with nine overs remaining.

Any hopes for the home side then disappeared as Dan Cumming struck taking two quick wickets forcing them to settle for a draw. Cumming took a further wicket with the last ball of the game to finish with 3-51. Brett Hutton took 2-27 whilst Scott Elstone bowled 12 overs taking 2-60.
