The Academy side easily overcame Anston at Notts Sports Ground in blustery rainy conditions on Monday. Anston won the toss & asked Notts to bat

Akhil Patel and Sam Wood gave them another good start with a century opening partnership of 102 although both fell at that score, edging to the wicket keeper in quick succession.

This brought together Sam Kelsall & Ben McGuire who added 115 together for the third wicket. McGuire was uncompromising on anything pitched short and hit a six and 5 fours in his contribution to the partnership of 65 before being caught in the deep.

Adam Shepherd joined Sam Kelsall, who was now stroking the ball with great authority, and reached his 50 from 75 balls.

The Anston innings was in tatters in Adam Shepherd's first three overs as he clean bowled Lyne, Carter & Forster all for ducks & Sam Wood ran out Parkinson leaving the visitors on 17-4. Norbury and Ruczenczyn put on 56 together but when Norbury was bowled by Jake Ball for 39, all resistance was gone and they were all out for 96 to give the Academy victory by 195 runs.
