England seamer Ryan Sidebottom has taken his place in the Notts Outlaws line-up for their Friends Provident Trophy quarter-final with Gloucestershire Gladiators.

The left-armer was cleared to play by the ECB following England’s defeat to West Indies yesterday in the ICC World Twenty20 which knocked them out of the tournament.

Former Notts seamer Ian Saxelby has recovered from mumps and will form part of the Gloucestershire bowling attack with Jon Lewis and Steve Kirby.

Notts captain Chris Read chose to bat after winning the toss, but saw Ali Brown and Alex Hales fall in the fourth over to Kirby to leave the visitors 4-2.

Notts XI:
Wagh, Ali Brown, Hales, Patel, Voges, Jefferson, Read (capt/wkt), Ealham, Adams, Fletcher, Sidebottom.

Gloucestershire XI:
Taylor, Lewis, Kirby, Spearman, Banerjee, David Brown, Saxelby, Adshead, Snell, Marshall, Portersfield.
