Scorecard

Charlie Shreck was dismissed with the seventh ball of Saturday’s play to consign Nottinghamshire to defeat to Durham by an innings and 102 runs.

Shreck added just four runs to Nottinghamshire’s overnight total of 79 before he was caught by Callum Thorp off Ian Blackwell.

The result extends Durham’s lead at the top of Division One of the LV County Championship.

Chris Read’s 48 was the only noteworthy batting contribution in a game that yielded 14 single figure Nottinghamshire knocks.

Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell looks set to keep faith with opening pair Bilal Shafayat and Matt Wood in next week’s game against Yorkshire at Scarborough but will closely monitor the form of Will Jefferson anad Alex Hales.

“It was a very poor performance and our batsman have to find some confidence,” said Newell.

“I’ll speak to them all individually but Will Jefferson and Alex Hales will be doing everything they can in the Second Eleven game against Worcestershire next week to put pressure on Matt and Bilal.”
