Young cricket fans can again enjoy the action and excitement of a Trent Bridge Test Match thanks to a special cut-price deal from npower, the ECB and Nottinghamshire.

The ‘Urban Cricket Crew’ powered by npower is an ECB initiative to encourage children to come along and experience a day of combined learning with sport at an npower Test Match.

The scheme allows children under-16 to watch any of the first four days of the third npower Test between England and New Zealand, starting on June 5, for just £8 admission - and one adult gets in free for every eight tickets bought.

All the seats are in the family-friendly Fox Road Stand, with each child receiving a goody bag on the day containing a fun activity pack, t-shirt, foam hand, cap and pen.

The ‘Sticky Wicket’ activity pack is designed and mapped to the National Curriculum by Key Stage 2 teachers and based on the ECB’s ‘Howzat!’ system.

Notts marketing manager Claire Harrison said: “The scheme not only offers a fantastic deal for youngsters but also means they get the chance to enjoy a great day out which combines learning with international cricket.

“It’s perfect for family groups, a school day out or for junior sections of local cricket clubs and similar offers have proved very popular in recent years.

“The Fox Road Stand always has an excellent family atmosphere as it is alcohol and smoke-free, making it the perfect place for children to watch the match, while adults can enjoy a drink at the bar under the stand.

“And the activity pack means they can also learn about cricket while watching their heroes like Kevin Pietersen and Ryan Sidebottom in action.”

The offer applies for the first four days of the Test, which starts on Thursday June 5. Tickets can be bought by ringing the Trent Bridge Ticket Office on 0870 168 8888 and quoting ‘Urban Cricket Crew’.

Limited tickets are also still available for adults in other areas around the ground on days one and four.
