England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff is expected to be named in the Lancashire Lightning side to face Notts Outlaws at Trent Bridge on Sunday (play commences 2:30pm).

Flintoff continued his return to fitness batting at number three in Lancashire’s four-run defeat to Yorkshire on Friday although he did not bowl in the fixture.

“I’m looking forward to seeing Flintoff in action at Trent Bridge because he’s an excellent cricketer and he’ll bring a few in through the gate,” said Newell.

“Lancashire have got a lot of good players and they are capable of achieving more then they have in Twenty20 cricket.

“They won two games and then lost three so it’s difficult to assess their team but we know that we can make it difficult for them to qualify from the group if we win.

“We’ve got a good record against Lancashire at Trent Bridge and we’ll be looking to take our form from the Derbyshire win into the game.”

Newell included Darren Pattinson and Charlie Shreck in the Outlaws attack against Derbyshire but could lean towards the spinners at Trent Bridge.

Will Jefferson and Adam Voges could open the batting after enjoying an 84 partnership at the County Ground.

Tickets are available on the day from the ticket point on Bridgford Road priced £15 for adults, £15 for senior citizens, £8 for juniors and £38 for families (two adults and two children).
