Nottingham Castle is looking for Robin Hood fans to dress up as their favourite outlaw and help set a new world record.

The city tourist attraction will host what is hoped to be the world's largest gathering of Robin Hoods on Saturday March 8.

Companies, teams, clubs, societies, families, students and individuals are all invited to take part.

With entertainment throughout the day and many great prizes to be won - including flights with Ryanair - it promises to be an exciting and amusing event, an opportunity for the people of Nottingham to come together to celebrate.

All groups of over 25 members will receive a commemorative trophy, and the largest team will win a donation from Castle Rock to a registered charity of their choice.

Please note, minimum dress requirements for entry are: Hat with a feather, a green or brown tunic, trousers or tights and appropriate footwear. Costumes must be in keeping with the traditional Robin Hood style.

Registration is from 10am at Nottingham Castle or 9am at the Canal House, for those who wish to enjoy breakfast before hand. Entry to the event and site is free for participants, and includes access to the BBC's Robin Hood Up Close exhibition.
