Youngsters interested in practicing their cricket skills in supervised coaching sessions by fully-qualified coaches should get in touch with the Notts Cricket Development department.

Staff have been dealing with a heavy demand for places on the new scheme, which is being held at the Woodhead Hall at Trent Bridge on Friday evenings over the next 10 weeks.

And although the hardball sessions for 11-13-year-olds are already sold out, there are still limited places available for 5-7-year-olds and 8-10-year-olds.

The first session is on October 5 and the programme runs until December 14. Coaching begins for 5-7-year-olds at 5pm and each hour session is immediately followed by the next age group.

It costs £50 to sign up for the entire course and although cricket clothing (preferably whites) and non-marking training shoes are required, basic equipment will be provided.

Half-term coaching sessions are also currently being organised, while the regular Notts Proficiency Test Award schemes will also be starting soon across the county.
