The 19-year-old from Carlton, who this week signed a new two-yearcontract, is already regarded as one of the quickest bowlers in thecountry and is aiming to maintain his progress after making hisChampionship debut this season.

He said: ?Spending three months in the company of people who haveplayed Test and One-day International cricket will be a real help to me- much like it has been in the Notts dressing room this year.

?I?m sure a winter at Loughborough will make me fitter and stronger and able to bowl longer spells at full pace.

?I?d like to get more games under my belt and hopefully what I learnthis winter can help me become part of a rotation system with the otherseamers at Trent Bridge.?

Footitt took five wickets on debut against Glamorgan at Trent Bridge, including a prize maiden first-class scalp of Indian captain SouravGanguly, and also played a big part in England Under-19s series victoryover Sri Lanka.

He added: ?It?s been a great year for me and I hope I?ll be able tocelebrate plenty more trophies in the future with Notts. I?m aNottingham lad and Trent Bridge is the only place I want to play.?

Director of Cricket Mick Newell said: ?Mark has developed into ahandful at any level with his pace and we want to see that progresscontinue.

?He offers us something different to our other left-armers RyanSidebottom and Greg Smith and with their experience we feel Mark canmake further steps forward in the future.?
