Ground Regulations

ADMISSION AND THE RIGHT TO REMAIN WITHIN THE GROUND IS STRICTLY ON CONDITION THAT THE SPECTATORS SHALL NOT COMMIT ANY OF THE FOLLOWING ACTS:

1. Failing to comply with directions given by a steward, security staff or police officer.

2. Enter the Ground without paying for admission or having a valid membership card.

3. Going on to the playing area at any time, unless specifically authorised by a Club official, or interfering with the normal course of play in any manner.

4. i) No alcohol may be brought into the Ground by any member of the public where the cricketing event is staged under the auspices of the ICC, or any other major cricketing event (for example international cricket, the Metro Bank One Day Cup Final and The Hundred) where the Chief Executive exercises his/her discretion to ban alcohol from being brought into the Ground.
ii) For all other domestic cricket matches (excluding T20 Vitality Blast matches), alcohol may be brought into the Ground by a Member of the Club for consumption only in areas of the Ground set aside for Members of the Club. The level of alcohol permitted to be brought in is restricted to 1 litre of wine, beer or lager.
iii) Where alcohol is permitted to be brought into the Ground under the Ground Regulations, it shall not be allowed to be brought in if it is any glass container of any description.

5. Bring animals on to the Ground (other than assistance dogs).

6. Throwing or discharging of missiles.

7. Obstructing any gangway, passageway or alleyway.

8. Climbing on any building, wall or fence.

9. Defacing or obscuring any notice or advertisement displayed within the Club’s premises.

10. Offering for sale on the Ground newspapers, periodicals, consumable products, or any other articles.

11. Interfering in any way with the comfort, enjoyment or safety of spectators, including :
i) Singing indecent songs or using indecent language or making indecent gestures.
ii) Making unnecessary noise such as that from the use of radios, mobile phones, whistles, bells, cans or persistently chanting in any part of the Ground.
iii) Unreasonably obstructing the view of other spectators.

12. The Club reserves the right to:
i) Close bars at any time and to restrict the consumption of alcohol.
ii) Refuse admission to any person.

13. Flags or banners containing poles or sticks are banned from the Ground.

14. Where a cricketing event is staged at the Ground under the auspices of the ICC, no glass bottles, no matter what their contents, may be brought in to the Ground.

15. It is a condition of entry to the Ground that all bags or containers of any description are made available for searching by a steward at the point of entry to the Ground and at any time thereafter while inside the Ground.

16. It is a condition of entry that any person will allow themselves to be appropriately searched by a steward at the point of entry to the Ground and at any time while inside the Ground to establish that no prohibited items have been brought into the Ground.

17. No person, unless authorised in advance by the Chief Executive of the Club may bring into the Ground any dangerous weapon, firework, explosive material, smoke canister, incendiary device, flare, klaxon, megaphone, compressed air or gas operated horn, whistle, drum or other musical instrument or any other object which may be considered by a steward to be offensive, disruptive, dangerous or otherwise likely to infringe on the safety or security of anyone inside the Ground.

18. It is not permissible for anyone to smoke tobacco, anything which contains tobacco, or any electronic cigarette in any area of the Ground which provides a view of the playing area. It is not permissible for anyone to smoke tobacco, anything which contains tobacco, or any electronic cigarette in any building or inside any temporary structure or beneath any fully or partially covered concourse to the rear of any building.

STEWARDS, SECURITY STAFF AND POLICE OFFICERS ARE AUTHORISED TO REMOVE FROM THE GROUND ANYONE CONTRAVENING THESE REGULATIONS.

ICC Anti Racism Regulation

Spectators shall not engage in any conduct, act towards or speak to any player, umpire, referee or other official or other spectators in a manner which offends, insults, humiliates, intimidates, threatens, disparages, or vilifies that other person on the basis of that person’s race, religion, colour, or national or ethnic origin.

Anti-Courtsider Provision 

1. In relation to the cricket match taking place at the ground, spectators are not permitted to use a mobile telephone, tablet, laptop, computer or other kind of communication device to either (i) communicate or in any way transmit any form of commentary, data or other material, for any kind of betting or corrupt or unlawful purpose; or (ii) conduct continuous betting trading activity.


2. Any person who is reasonably suspected by the Club (or its appointed nominees), of acting in breach of this provision unconditionally accepts and agrees that he/she will cooperate with any enquiries made by the Club (or its appointed nominees), including by providing his/her name and address, an explanation for his/her suspicious conduct, and/or agreeing that he/she may be photographed and/or filmed by the Club (or its appointed nominees).

The person accepts that any such names, addresses, photographs and films may be shared between each of the ECB, all the other first class county clubs, relevant official cricket authorities and any relevant police and crime prevention authorities, for the purposes of any criminal investigations or proceedings, in connection with any investigation into a potential breach of domestic or international cricket anti-corruption rules and/or to enable the ECB and the other first class clubs to give reciprocal effect to any ban on entry which is subsequently imposed by the Club.  Personal data collected under this provision will be processed in accordance with Data Protection law,

3. Any person who is reasonably suspected to be in breach of this provision accepts that he/she may be immediately ejected from the ground (without any financial or other compensation) and prohibited from entering the ground and any other cricket ground under the control of either the ECB or any first class county club for life or such other period of time as the Club deems appropriate in its sole and absolute discretion.

 

Photography Policy

Please note that the use of any cameras or mobile devices or any electronic equipment, for the recording, transmission or communication of match footage, details, statistics, images (on any platforms including but not limited to websites and social media) etc., is not permitted other than with the proper accreditation.

You can, however, take pictures for your own personal use, providing you do not use specialist equipment such as telephoto lenses, tripods or mono pods.

Accredited photographers will be present during the match and will be taking images for use on our printed marketing materials and digital channels. If you or anyone in your party would not like photographing, then please inform our photographer or your nearest steward.
